Frequently asked questions
What is a cable calculation?
A cable calculation determines the correct cable sections, fuses, and wiring for your electrical installation according to current Belgian standards (AREI/RGIE). This ensures a safe and compliant installation.
When is a site visit required?
A site visit is required when you don't have the necessary technical documentation (schematics, cable lengths, sections, placement methods). For large installations (10+ boards), a site visit is always mandatory.
What documentation do I need?
For a calculation without a site visit, you need: single-line schematics, cable lengths, cable sections, placement methods, transformer data, and breaker specifications. The more complete your documentation, the faster the calculation.
How does the ordering process via SPOQ work?
You place your order through our partner platform SPOQ. After receiving your order and documentation, Jef starts the calculation. You receive the result by email.
How long does a cable calculation take?
A standard calculation for compact extensions is typically delivered within 5 business days. Per-board calculations and large installations may take longer depending on complexity.
What if I don't know my installation details?
No problem — contact us for a site visit. We will come on-site to measure all required data. An hourly rate plus transport costs apply. For large installations (10+ boards), a site visit is always mandatory and included in the custom quote.
What is the difference between compact extensions and per-board calculations?
Compact extensions are for smaller installations like solar panels or EV chargers. Per-board calculations are for installations with multiple distribution boards.
How much does a cable calculation cost?
The price depends on the service type. Compact extensions have a fixed rate. Per-board calculations are priced per board plus a one-time startup fee. For large installations (10+ boards), you receive a custom quote after a mandatory on-site visit. All current pricing can be found under the services tab.
